Senior Cricket

Suburbs New Lynn is one of Auckland's leading cricket clubs and has a long, proud history of success. We are based Ken Maunder Park in New Lynn, where we have four playing fields, outdoors nets and a magnificent 5 lane Indoor Training Centre - the best in Auckland. We are one of Auckland's largest senior clubs with over 20 teams competing in a range of competitions.

Here at Suburbs we take our cricket seriously but also pride ourselves on being a sociable club, hosting a number of events throughout the year. Your subscription covers a whole season of games in the Auckland Cricket Competition as well as match balls, access to the clubrooms and training at our Indoor Training Centre at designated times. You'll also qualify for a 10% at discount at Players Sport - Suburb's gear supplier.

See below for where you fit in and register accordingly. All existing members should also register.

Premier Squad

These players are the clubs elite, and compete in Auckland Cricket's two-day, one day and T20 competitions. Training takes place at the Suburbs indoor facility and is run by our Head Coach, Jonny Bassett-Graham. During the season, training usually runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

The Premier Squad starts pre-season training in mid-August and existing members should check the Premier Squad Facebook page for details. Potential new members should register online (see top right hand corner of page) and you will be contacted regarding trainings. Inclusion in the Premier Squad is based on merit so new members may be asked to train initially with the 3rd & 4th grade squad depending on their level of playing experience.

Alternatively contact the Premier Squad coach Jonny Bassett-Graham at  jonnybassettgraham@gmail.com or 021 460 489 for further details.

Two Day Grade Cricket - 3rd & 4th Grade Squad

These players compete below Premier level but still want to play serious and competitive two day cricket. Our 3rd and 4th Grade teams train as a squad on Tuesdays and Thursdays and this is the ideal learning ground for players leaving secondary school who want to see how far they can progress in their cricket. The squad is coached by Trevor Payle.

The 3rd/4th Grade Squad starts pre-season training in mid-August and existing members should already have been contacted with details. Potential new members should register online (see top right hand corner of page) and you will be contacted regarding trainings. The squad is currently training on Tuesdays from 6.00-8.00pm at the Indoor School and prospective new members are welcome to come down and join in.

Two Day Grade Cricket - 5th Grade and below

Suburbs traditionally enters a number of teams at 5th Grade and below. These teams are self organising with the team captain / organiser arranging the players and being the main point of contact for the club. A 'team subscription' is paid to the club at the beginning of the season rather than individual subscriptions. If you played for one of these teams last season you should register online. Your team name will appear as an option under Two Day Cricket when you register.

The captain / organiser of each existing team should also contact the Club Manager, Joanne Thornber, to confirm the team entry for 2018-19.

Potential new team entries are welcome and a regular training time in the Indoor Facility is included in the team subscription.

If individuals do wish to play but are not connected to an existing team they should register under the Two Day - New Member option and then we will attach you to an existing team.

Inquiries should go to Club Manager Joanne Thornber at snlccmanager@outlook.com or 021 0872 8891
